The Fund for Young Musicians

In November 2007, in conjunction with our first Countess of Munster Recital, The Cossington Concert Trust launched its own Fund for Young Musicians with the profits from the event, and is now raising further money to recognise and reward the tremendous effort youngsters in the Polden Hills and wider Bridgwater area invest in mastering musical instruments or training their singing voices, and in developing themselves more generally as serious musicians.

The Fund Committee accepts applications from young people still in full-time education for awards toward the purchase of instruments, music, books and equipment, as well as short courses (masterclasses and workshops) and specialist one-to-one tuition.  Applications for support are welcome at anytime. The Committee meets three times a year (in March, July and November) to consider written applications and may request the applicant appear for an interview and audition.

Application Procedures

Please complete the application form (PDF) and return it, along with a letter of support from your principal music teacher, to:  Stephen Bell (The Old Wagon House, Main Street, Ash, Martock TA12 6PB).
